Monster Jam will be at the BB&T Center this weekend (8/11-8/12). There will be three shows, two on Saturday, and one on Sunday. The trucks scheduled to be at the event are Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, FTI Torque, Ice Cream Man, Razin Kane, and Xtermigator. Tickets start at $20, and are available on Ticketmaster's website. This Saturday, July 28th, Barrel of Monks Brewing will have their first ever Wet & Wild Beer Bash. They will have a homemade slip n' slide, so you can beat this Florida heat! There will be live music, food trucks, and special water events as well. There is no admission charge, but drinks require tickets. Last Saturday night I went to Ft. Lauderdale Beach, and stumbled upon Rock Bar/Sangrias. It's literally across the street from the sand, the seats are outdoors (with a roof above of course), and inside is a dance floor. They have food, drinks, and even hookah! I ordered their strawberry flavored hookah, and really enjoyed it. Everyone at the table gets their own "straw" to use. I also ordered nachos, some tacos, and a blue sky margarita (pictured below). They have a 2 for $25 deal on the margaritas, so if you can't drink two 45 oz. margaritas, bring a friend so they can drink the other one. Cirque du Soleil's Crystal show is coming to the BB&T Center from July 18-29th. For the first time in this company's history, all the performances will be on ice. There are 15 shows scheduled, so you won't miss out. This is a great way to avoid the hot, summer weather, and still get some entertainment. This Saturday (7/14) is the 7th Annual Boca Burger Battle from 6-10pm at
Sanborn Square Park. Enjoy unlimited burgers and bites, and vote for your favorite burger creation. There will be live music, craft beer, summer wines, and a retail bazaar. Tickets are available online at Boca Burger Battle's website. VIP tickets are $75 and General Admission are $50.

This Thursday-Sunday is the Florida Supercon, South Florida's largest comic, anime, gaming, and pop convention. You can get an autograph from William Shatner, as well as other television/movie stars, voice actors, wrestlers, and comic creators. Tons of events are scheduled during the convention, and numerous vendors will be there to sell all types of comics and other cool products. Dress up like your favorite comic book character, and you might end up winning a contest. Tickets are only available online at Florida Supercon's website. Unfortunately, all Multi-Day tickets are sold out.
